Torsten joined MyGrid at the beginning of 2025, thanks to a strong recommendation from Eric. Quiet by nature but razor-sharp when it comes to solving problems, he’s quickly proven himself to be an invaluable addition to the team.

As a firmware engineer, Torsten brings not only deep technical expertise but also a rare instinct for navigating complex challenges, no matter how tricky the issue, he finds a way to fix it.

What makes Torsten's journey stand out is that he never studied computer science in the traditional sense. Instead, he taught himself how to code, diving into the world of firmware development early in his career and never looking back.

When asked about the most exciting project he worked on before joining MyGrid, he finds it hard to pick just one. Every startup he’s been part of has brought something unique to the table, and he’s found value in all of them.

So, why MyGrid's plug and play battery ecosystem? For Torsten, it’s about the thrill of building something meaningful under pressure. He thrives in that early-stage, high-energy environment where products are still taking shape and big ideas are being turned into reality. That’s exactly where MyGrid is right now, and it’s where he feels most at home.

It’s no surprise, then, that MyGrid also keeps him up at night, but not in a bad way. Torsten doesn’t stick to a nine-to-five rhythm. He stays with a problem until he’s happy with the outcome, even if it means working into the early hours.

When it comes to inspiration, Torsten names Jesper Kouthoofd and Carl Pei, two figures who’ve influenced the way he thinks about design, technology, and product development.

His favorite book is The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway, a classic that reflects his own quiet persistence and focus.

Despite his technical skills, Torsten doesn’t see himself as a geek. When he’s not working, he prefers spending time with his family, staying active through sports, and listening to music to recharge.

For vacations, he loves the freedom of road trips and the calm of sailing, two ways of exploring that mirror his approach to work: independent, adventurous, and always moving forward.

And finally, his guilty pleasure? That would be Viagra Boys, a Swedish punk band from Stockholm.
